As soon as the president began his inaugural address yesterday with a nod to the Constitution, I actually said aloud, “Uh-oh.”
Each time we gather to inaugurate a President we bear witness to the enduring strength of our Constitution….As feared, the speech devolved into a laundry list of leftist initiatives disguised as Constitutional obligations through an Orwellian prism:
Through it all, we have never relinquished our skepticism of central authority, nor have we succumbed to the fiction that all society’s ills can be cured through government alone.Barack Obama’s inaugural couldn’t have been less like JFK’s. We weren’t urged to ask what we can do for our country. We were being sold a country that solves all our problems.
